ACM is operating the first internationally certified biochar production unit in the Philippines. ACM is a Puro.earth certified supplier and NuevaChar is registered on their website
We are utilizing rice husk to provide the local government with free heat for grain drying while making biochar in the process. We fully support local communities where we develop our projects, which is why our biochar projects are fully local from engineering design all the way to fabrication and operation of gasifiers. Our gasifiers are replacing open-air furnaces, which emit more CO2 and black carbon. We are replacing heavy metal contaminated ash with our rice husk biochar.
Biochar is a high-carbon form of charcoal made from organic wastes and residues. ACM is currently producing biochar from rice-husk but is actively exploring other feedstocks as well.
Beyond biochar, ACM plans to decarbonize the rice industry in the Philippines through regenerative agricultural, green heat and power and other technological advancements. ACM is also partnering with local universities and research institutions to explore novel uses of biochar and to find ways to efficiently and sustainably decarbonize other industries in the Philippines.
Co-benefits from NuevaChar include the following Sustainable Development Goals
ACM is keen to explore further applications of biochar – please feel free to contact us to discuss novel applications (both commercial and research!) of our unique biochar.
